But West Adelaide Bearcats were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Flinders Park 93-88 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was American guard Jawan Stepney (192-1995, college: CWU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Devon McGee (205-1997) chipped in 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Stepney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Woodville Warriors players scored in double figures. Woodville Warriors' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-1992, college: Boise St.) who recorded 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Mitchell McCarron (189-1992, college: MSU Denver) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Woodville Warriors will meet at home Central District Lions (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. West Adelaide Bearcats will play against Norwood Flames in Marden and hope to get finally their first victory.
