Salties used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Brisbane 80-72 on Saturday night. Salties forced 21 Brisbane Spartans turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Erin Bollmann (180-1994, college: SEMO) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Guard Ruby Porter (178-2001, college: Nebraska) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Guard Madelyn Allen (178-1994) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and New Zealand guard Ashleigh Karaitiana (183-1992, college: Hawaii) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Brisbane Spartans in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Salties will meet at home Dolphins in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brisbane Spartans will play against Sunshine CP (#14) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
