Regular Season Round 3: Ipswich F. - RedCity R. 82-65

Force used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Brisbane 82-65 on Sunday night. Force made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Roar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Roar's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Alison Gorrell (178-1993, college: FAU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The former international center Meg Essex (190-1996) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Force players scored in double figures. Guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Shorna Preston added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Roar in the defeat. Force will meet Rollers (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Roar will play against Pirates in Runcorn and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
