Regular Season Round 4: Rockhampton R. - Townsville H. 102-103

No shocking result in a game in Rockhampton where third ranked Townsville Heat (2-1) edged bottom-ranked Rockets (0-2) 103-102 on Saturday. Townsville Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets' 50. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Luca Yates (208-2004, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Ethan Betts (188-1998, college: Umpqua CC) who added 21 points and 8 assists during the contest. Townsville Heat's coach Shane Froling used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side New Zealand guard Nikau McCullough (190-1997, college: St.Mary's, TX) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists and American guard Wesley Harris (203-1997, college: Tennessee St.) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Townsville Heat went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Northside W. and Sunbury J. Loser Rockets still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 7 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
