No shocking result in a game in Casey where top-ranked Lady Braves (5-0) smashed bottom-ranked Cavaliers (0-5) 100-70 on Friday. Lady Braves forced 23 Cavaliers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Cavaliers' players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Amy Atwell (183-1998, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds and Meg Mccarthy who added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. American guard Rachel Bell (178, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds and guard Taylah Giliam (173-1999) scored 16 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lady Braves have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Cavaliers still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with C.Districts L. and Sunbury J.. Lady Braves will meet Wildcats (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cavaliers will play against Geelong Supercats (#9) and hope to get finally their first victory.
