There was no surprise when 8th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (3-2) lost to third ranked Frankston Blues (5-1) in Seaford 78-94 on Saturday. Frankston Blues had a 40-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Lucas Barker (183-1993, college: Indianapolis) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Brad Newley (198-1985) supported him with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds by naturalized Sudanese forward Ngor Manyang (200-1993) did not help to save the game for Diamond Valley Eagles. The former international guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) added 22 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Frankston Blues keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the fourth place with two games lost.
