Regular Season Round 4: Rams - Sharks 102-86

Everything could happen in Christchurch at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Rams and 5th ranked Sharks had identical 3-1 record. This time Rams used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Southland 102-86 on Friday night. Rams dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 34 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Rams forced 19 Sharks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sharks' players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Tai Wynyard (208-1998, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and international guard Taylor Britt (187-1996, college: Southeast CC) who added 11 points and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-1988, college: Bellarmine) responded with 29 points and 7 assists and guard Alonzo Burton (193-1993, agency: IceBasket) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Rams and four Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rams have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Nuggets. Sharks at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Tuatara and Bulls. Rams will meet at home Saints (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play against Saints (#9) and hope to secure a win.
