Regular Season Round 10: Geelong LS - Frankston B. 68-81

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Geelong Supercats (2-3) lost at home to seventh ranked Frankston Blues (4-3) 81-68 on Saturday. Frankston Blues forced 19 Geelong Supercats turnovers. Strangely Geelong Supercats outrebounded Frankston Blues 51-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Forward Chloe Bibby (185-1998, college: Maryland) notched 33 points (!!!) to lead the effort and Chelsea Angelo supported her with 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Frankston Blues' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 25 rebounds by center Ella Tofaeono (190, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for Geelong Supercats. Forward Eve Braslis (185-2000, college: Pepperdine) added 12 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Five Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Frankston Blues have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Geelong Supercats dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. They share it with Ipswich F. and USC Rip. Frankston Blues will meet at home Ballarat Rush (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Geelong Supercats will play against Diamond Valley Eagles (#8) in Greensborough and hope to secure a win.
