Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Roar (0-6) was outscored by twelfth ranked Force (2-3) in Brisbane 92-69 on Saturday. Force made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American guard Alison Gorrell (178-1993, college: FAU) notched a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Meg Essex (190-1996) supported her with 20 points and 4 assists. Four Force players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by center Caitlin Cunningham (192-1986) did not help to save the game for Roar. Guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Force moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Geelong LS and USC Rip. Loser Roar still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Casey C.. Force will meet higher ranked Pirates (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Roar will play against the league's leader Wizards (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
