Everything went according to plan in Alexandria where fifth ranked Comets (7-2) outscored 10th ranked Crusaders (4-7) 91-60 on Saturday. Comets dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Crusaders' 22. Comets forced 22 Crusaders turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Greek point guard Vanessa Panousis (170-1995, college: Virginia Tech) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international point guard Shyla Heal (167-2001, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Comets players scored in double figures. Guard Maddison Penn (183-1994, college: UBC) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jasmine Forcadilla (173-1997, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 12 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Comets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Norths B. Crusaders lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Comets will meet Nationals (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Crusaders will play against Falcons and hope to secure a win.
