There was no surprise in Newcastle where 12th ranked Bulls (3-7) were outplayed by fourth ranked Falcons (7-1) 85-48 on Saturday. Falcons forced 25 Bulls turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Nicole Munger (180-1997, college: Michigan) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Mykea Gray (163-1998, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Falcons players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-1985, college: Utah) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Mikaela Dombkins (181-1986) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Bulls' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Falcons. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bulleen B. Loser Bulls keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Penrith P.. Falcons will meet Crusaders (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bulls will play against Mustangs in Maitland and hope to secure a win.
