Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Roar (0-8) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Brisbane Spartans (5-4) 88-50 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans forced 20 Roar turnovers and outrebounded them 49-29 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Madelyn Allen (178-1994) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Swedish forward Elin Gustavsson (190-1993, college: Colorado St.) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Shorna Preston scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Spartans moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Roar still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with SW Slammers.
