There was no surprise in Kilsyth where 17th ranked Lady Cobras (2-7) were defeated by ninth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (5-4) 82-71 on Saturday. Diamond Valley Eagles outrebounded Lady Cobras 50-37 including a 21-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Sophie Burrows (184-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Jennie Rintala (188-1990, college: S.Dakota St.) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Alexa Hart (190-1995, college: Ohio St.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Nikita Young scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Diamond Valley Eagles and four Lady Cobras players scored in double figures. Lady Cobras' coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Lady Cobras lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Mackay M.. Diamond Valley Eagles will meet Tigers (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lady Cobras will play against Chargers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
