There was a surprise result in Kalgoorlie where tenth ranked Giants (3-5) won against higher ranked Wanneroo (7-4) 100-96 on Saturday. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Michael Dupree (185, college: Northwest) fired 32 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Jerome Reid (195-1996) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Quintin Dove (200-1998, college: UT Martin) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) added 24 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five Giants and four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. Giants moved-up to ninth place. Loser Wanneroo keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Hills H. and Sutherland S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
