The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Bearcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bearcats smashed their close opponent Forestville Eagles in Woodville 100-54. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bearcats forced 25 Forestville Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bearcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nikolas DeSantis (-1998) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-1992, college: Boise St.) who added 13 points and 9 assists during the contest. Four Bearcats players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Greg Mays (203-1993, college: Green Bay) responded with 11 points and guard Brad Rathjen (188-1998, college: NIACC) scored 6 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bearcats (7-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Forestville Eagles at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Forestville Eagles will play next round against North Adelaide Rockets trying to get back on the winning streak. Bearcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
