There was a small surprise in Darwin where sixth ranked Salties (5-2) defeated 4th ranked Mackay Meteors (5-4) 102-88 on Saturday. Salties made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Mackay Meteors turnovers. American guard Jerron Jamerson (194-1992, college: Goshen) fired 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international guard Sean Macdonald (185-2000) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Salties players scored in double figures. Guard Isaac White (188-1998, college: CBU) produced 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Haitian center Djery Jean-Baptiste (209-1995, college: UMass) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salties have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place.
