Not a big story in a game in Wendouree where 19th ranked Ballarat Rush (1-9) was defeated by third ranked Knox Raiders (7-2) 77-71 on Saturday. Knox Raiders outrebounded Ballarat Rush 43-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alicia Froling (190-1996, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) and Danish power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) who added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Abigail Wehrung (177-1995) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Tayanna Jones (185-2000, college: Colorado) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Knox Raiders maintains third position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Wyndham D., which they share with SW Metro P. Ballarat Rush lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Eastern M.. Knox Raiders will meet at home league's second-placed Falcons in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ballarat Rush will play against the league's second-placed Falcons (#2) and hope to win that game.
