There was a small surprise in Gold Coast where ninth ranked Rollers (5-5) defeated their close opponent Flames (5-7) 67-57 on Friday. Rollers made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American forward Cate Reese (188, college: Arizona) stepped up and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) responded with 27 points and forward Alexandra Fowler (188-2001, college: Portland) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Flames' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rollers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Flames keep the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Sandringham S.. Rollers will meet at home Roar (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flames will have a break next round.
