We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Salties (5-4) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Mackay Meteors (6-4) 92-86 on Friday. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Isaac White (188-1998, college: CBU) who scored 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Haitian center Djery Jean-Baptiste (209-1995, college: UMass) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Mackay Meteors' coach Joel Khalu allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Makuach Maluachx (200-1998, college: N.Mexico) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized South Sudanese power forward Deng Riak (208-1995, college: Akron) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mackay Meteors moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Salties dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Warwick S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
