Not a big story in a game in Floreat where 8th ranked Suns (3-6) were defeated by third ranked Hawks (8-3) 82-64 on Saturday. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Emma Clarke (186-2000, college: Colorado) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Nicolette Gilday (175-1992, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Makailah Dyer (175-1994, college: N.Dakota) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized British power forward Samantha Roscoe (194-1995, college: N.Dakota) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hawks. They maintain third place with 8-3 record having just one point less than leader Wyndham D. Suns lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Ipswich F.. Hawks will meet Giants (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play against Flames in Rockingham and hope to secure a win.
