The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Eltham Wildcats as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Frankston Blues) loss. Eltham Wildcats defeated 17th ranked Ringwood Hawks at home 104-99. Eltham Wildcats players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Power forward Callum Dalton (207-2000) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American power forward Joshua Sykes (203-1996, college: Fresno City) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) by American forward Kyle Daggett (198-1999, college: Shepherd) did not help to save the game for Ringwood Hawks. His fellow American import guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC, agency: IceBasket) added 26 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Eltham Wildcats have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Ringwood Hawks at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Melbourne T. and NW Tasmania. Ringwood Hawks will play next round against Thunder trying to get back on the winning streak. Eltham Wildcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
