Very expected game in Condell Park where 8th ranked Bruins (6-6) were defeated by first ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (12-1) 71-57 on Sunday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forced 26 Bruins turnovers. Guard Bree Delaney (178, college: Fresno St.) stepped up and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Kimberley Hodge (182-1998) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Kiahna Davis responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Loser Bruins dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will meet at home Mustangs (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bruins will play against Nationals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
