There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Cougars (7-4) crushed 4th placed Cougars (7-4) in Keysborough 110-82 on Sunday. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Nathan Davis (193-1998, college: Seton Hill) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) accounted for 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Cougars players scored in double figures. Point guard Anthony Williams (178-1995, college: Clark Atlanta) came up with 27 points and forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Cougars. Cougars will meet Storm (#8) in the next round. Cougars will play against Melbourne Uni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
