The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Cougars' (3-7) home victory over 12th ranked Eagles (1-10) in Hamilton Hill 116-86 on Sunday. Cougars made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Eagles' players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Courtney Alexander (203-1997, college: Tenn Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Luke Phillips (208, college: ULM) accounted for 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Cougars players scored in double figures. American power forward Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Taylor Young (190-1990, college: WPU) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Eagles in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bendigo B. and Eastern M. Loser Eagles dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Western PS. Cougars will meet higher ranked Wanneroo (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play against Magic (#14) and hope to win that game.
