Regular Season Round 14: Willetton T. - Warwick S. 109-76
Date: May 27, 2023
Rather expected game when 7th ranked Senators (4-5) were smashed by fourth ranked Tigers (8-3) in Willetton 109-76 on Saturday. Tigers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Tigers outrebounded Senators 47-29 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Senators' players. Bosnian Melisa Brcaninovic (193-1999) notched 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Desiree Kelley (175-1995) supported her with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Even 16 points by guard Chloe Forster (176-2003) did not help to save the game for Senators. Guard Stacey Barr (173-1992, college: Idaho) added 20 points for the guests. Five Tigers and four Senators players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Southern T. and Mt Gambier. Senators lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Tigers will meet Suns (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Senators will play against Redbacks and hope to secure a win.
