The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Hume City Broncos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Hume City Broncos defeated 10th ranked Steelers in Tullamarine 107-93. Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Steelers' 50. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Corey Fiddes (198, college: CS East Bay) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Scott Stone (193-1995, college: St.Cloud St.) produced 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import center Russell Permenter (203-1988, college: Providence) added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. Five Hume City Broncos and four Steelers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Perry Lakes H. and Norths B. Steelers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
