Everything went according to plan in Canberra where first ranked Excellence (13-1) outleveled 12th ranked Crusaders (3-9) 100-67 on Saturday. Excellence dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Crusaders' 24. They outrebounded Crusaders 52-28 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Alex Toohey (201-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and point guard James ODonnell (180-2005) who added 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Excellence players scored in double figures. American point guard Aaron Ajay Lawton (184-1994, college: Indianapolis) responded with 27 points and guard Luke Cassidy (-2000) scored 13 points. Excellence have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Crusaders lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Townsville H. and Casey C.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
