There was a minor upset in Bellarine where 5th ranked Cougars (7-5) were defeated by eighth ranked Storm (3-8) 109-91 on Saturday. Storm looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Lewis Varley (186-1993) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Max Kos who added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Storm players scored in double figures. American guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) responded with 24 points and 5 assists and forward Jayce Beasley (198, college: Raritan Valley) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Storm maintains eighth position with 3-8 record, which they share with Cockburn C. and Eastern M. Loser Cougars dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Diamond V.E.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
