There was no surprise in Joondalup where 11th ranked Cougars (3-8) were defeated by fourth ranked Wanneroo (9-4) 105-97 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wanneroo made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Quintin Dove (200-1998, college: UT Martin) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) who added 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. American forward Courtney Alexander (203-1997, college: Tenn Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Josh Hunt (194-2002) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wanneroo moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Cougars dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Eastern M. and Bellarine S.. Wanneroo will meet at home league's leader Hawks in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cougars will have a break next round.
