We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when nineteenth ranked Ballarat Rush (2-10) won against 18th ranked Cavaliers (2-10) in Cranbourne 79-66 on Saturday. Ballarat Rush outrebounded Cavaliers 41-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Abigail Wehrung (177-1995) notched 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Swedish forward Emma Karamovic (184-1996, college: Southeastern) supported her with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points by American guard Rachel Bell (178, college: Vanderbilt) did not help to save the game for Cavaliers. The former international guard Stephanie Blicavs (178-1990) added 18 points for the hosts. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Ballarat Rush moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sunbury J. and Casey C. Ballarat Rush will meet Tigers (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cavaliers will play against the league's leader Lady Braves (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
