Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Ringwood Hawks (4-10) lost to eleventh ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (6-8) in Ulverstone 78-83 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. NW Tasmania Thunder forced 25 Ringwood Hawks turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Swingman Sekou Sylla (196, college: Towson) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and guard Vionte Daniels (188-1997, college: WSU) accounted for 25 points and 4 steals. Forward Kyle Daggett (198-1999, college: Shepherd) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC, agency: IceBasket) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for Ringwood Hawks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ringwood Hawks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. NW Tasmania Thunder moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sydney C. and Lakeside L. Ringwood Hawks lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Camberwell. NW Tasmania Thunder will meet at home league's leader Frankston Blues in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ringwood Hawks will play against Chargers (#9) in Hobart and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
