There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Brisbane Capitals (4-8) crushed at home higher ranked South West Metro Pirates (6-6) 123-75 on Friday. Brisbane Capitals forced 23 South West Metro Pirates turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Brisbane Capitals shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by South West Metro Pirates' players. American forward Trevor Lakes (203-1999, college: S.Indiana) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Lachlan Dent (184-2000) accounted for 18 points and 12 assists. Five Brisbane Capitals players scored in double figures. Guard Brendan Teys (188-1990) came up with 17 points and American Jeremy McLaughlin (203-1995, college: Catawba) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for South West Metro Pirates in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Capitals have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Melbourne T. and Cockburn C. Loser South West Metro Pirates dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Geelong S..
