Everything went according to plan in Bulleen where second ranked Boomers (10-2) outscored 4th placed Cougars (6-7) 90-70 on Saturday. Boomers shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-1993) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Keli Romas (170, college: Newberry) chipped in 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Morgan Riley who recorded 17 points and Cassie Hill added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boomers maintains second place with 10-2 record having six points less than leader Wyndham D. Loser Cougars keep the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Canberra N. and Townsville F.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
