There was an upset in Marden where higher ranked Flames (7-5) were defeated by tenth ranked Lions (1-11) 72-68 on Saturday. Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jaedyn De La Cerda (175, college: N.Mexico) who had a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Tiahna Sears (178, college: N.Alabama) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Alek Akuen (190, college: SIUE) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized British Jorjah Smith (173-1994) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Five Flames players scored in double figures. Lions left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Eastern M. Loser Flames dropped to the third position with five games lost.
