No shocking result in a game when third ranked Forestville Eagles (9-3) crushed 8th ranked Eastern Mavericks (3-9) in Mt. Barker 117-97 on Saturday. Forestville Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Eastern Mavericks' 52. They outrebounded Eastern Mavericks 50-31 including 21 on the offensive glass. Forestville Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Naturalized South Sudanese forward Malith Machar (198-1999, college: Midland CC) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Greg Mays (203-1993, college: Green Bay) supported him with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Forestville Eagles' coach Andrew Simons used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Jack Hemphill (206-1999, college: SFC) did not help to save the game for Eastern Mavericks. Guard Lengudi Gur (-2000) added 25 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five Forestville Eagles and four Eastern Mavericks players scored in double figures. Forestville Eagles keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sturt S. and W.Adelaide B. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the eighth place with nine games lost.
