Regular Season Round 22: Norwood F. - C.District L. 88-91

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Norwood Flames (5-7) were edged by ninth ranked Central District Lions (3-9) in Marden 91-88 on Saturday. American forward Kevin Baker (203-1998, college: LC State) notched 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Branden Jenkins (196-1994, college: TxWes) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Worth to mention Jenkins played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by Walter Mcbride did not help to save the game for Norwood Flames. New Zealand forward Isaac Miller-Jose (203-1998, college: Manitoba) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Central District Lions moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Eastern M. and Bellarine S. Norwood Flames lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
