There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Crusaders (3-10) lost to fifteenth ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (3-12) in Terrigal 72-79 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles outrebounded Crusaders 50-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. American forward Matthew Eldridge (203-1996, college: Lindsey Wilson) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Maxim Nesterov (198-2000) supported him with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Eldridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 4 assists by American point guard Aaron Ajay Lawton (184-1994, college: Indianapolis) did not help to save the game for Crusaders. Forward James Trustum (197-1992) added 11 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Crusaders' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles maintains fifteenth position with 3-12 record, which they share with Dandenong R. Crusaders lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with SW Slammers and Blackburn V.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
