Regular Season Round 15: Rockingham F. - SW Slammers 109-44

There was no surprise in Rockingham where bottom-ranked Slammers (0-11) were outplayed by sixth ranked Flames (8-3) 109-44 on Saturday. Flames held Slammers to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Flames forced 29 Slammers turnovers and outrebounded them 67-33 including a 27-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Slammers' players. The best player for the winners was guard Casey Samuels (182-1994) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Mehryn Kraker (183-1994, college: Green Bay) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Flames players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alexis Donovan who recorded 10 points and 7 rebounds and Bree Chalk added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Flames. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mandurah M. Slammers lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. They share the position with RedCity R.. Flames will meet Suns (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Slammers will have a break next round.
