We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Geelong Supercats (6-7) were edged by eleventh ranked Thunder (7-7) in Melbourne 106-104 on Sunday. Strangely Geelong Supercats outrebounded Thunder 48-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Naturalized South Sudanese guard Kuany Kuany (201-1994, college: Chaminade) notched 28 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward William Jenkins III (201-1996, college: Virginia Union) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by forward George Blagojevic (203-1997, college: Hartford) did not help to save the game for Geelong Supercats. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193-1992, college: SHSU, agency: IceBasket) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Thunder have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Geelong Supercats lost third consecutive game.
