Regular Season Round 22: Mandurah M. - East Perth E. 100-76
Date: June 5, 2023
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourteenth ranked Magic (1-13) outplayed 13th ranked Eagles (3-13) in Mandurah 100-76 on Monday. Magic forced 24 Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eagles' players. American DeQuan Abrom (188-1996, college: Belm.Abbey) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the other American import forward Ray Turner (206-1990, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Five Magic players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Taylor Young (190-1990, college: WPU) did not help to save the game for Eagles. Jarrad Anastasio (199-1997) added 18 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Magic maintains fourteenth position with 1-13 record. Loser Eagles keep the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Magic will meet at home higher ranked Giants (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eagles will play against Senators and hope to secure a win.
