Very important is a home loss of third ranked BA CoE (12-5) against ninth ranked Nationals (8-7) on Thursday night. Host BA CoE was defeated by Nationals in a tough game in Canberra 79-84. Nationals looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Isabelle Bourne (188-2000, college: Nebraska) fired 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lizzy Tonks (173, college: CSUN) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Isla Juffermans (191-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and center Saffron Shiels (187-2006) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Nationals have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. BA CoE lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Nationals will meet at home Hawks (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. BA CoE will play against North Bears (#3) in Crows Nest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
