Seventh-ranked Senators (7-6) gave a tough game to top-ranked Cougars (13-0) in Perth on Saturday. The visitors from Hamilton Hill managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected much easier game. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists and Amelia Corasaniti who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Stacey Barr (173-1992, college: Idaho) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and guard Chloe Forster (176-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Cougars have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-0 record, which they share with Sturt S. Senators at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Cougars is looking forward to face Eagles (#9) in Morley in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Senators will play on the road against Magic (#4) in Mandurah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
