Regular Season Round 11: Giants - Hawks 100-91

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Giants (5-8) beat 7th ranked Hawks (5-9) in Stoke 100-91 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for South Sudanese-Australian center Matur Maker (208-1998) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Center Callum McRae (216-1999, college: Sacramento St.) accounted for 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Hyrum Harris (198-1996, college: Umpqua CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Ira Lee (203-1998, college: Arizona) added 24 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Hawks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giants moved-up to sixth place. Hawks lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Sharks. Giants will meet league's leader Tuatara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hawks will play against Nuggets (#4) and hope to secure a win.
