Very expected game when 12th ranked Rangers (7-9) lost on the road to fifth ranked Geelong Supercats (10-4) 92-84 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rangers' 30. Guard Chantel Horvat (185-1998, college: UCLA) nailed 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Sarah Elsworthy (171-1998) accounted for 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Center Nyadiew Puoch (189-2004) came up with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman Luisa Fakalata (175-2003) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Rangers in the defeat. Rangers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Geelong Supercats have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Logan T. and Darwin S. Loser Rangers keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Geelong Supercats will meet at home Wildcats (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rangers will play against Hawks (#6) in Heathmont and hope to secure a win.
