There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Lady Cobras (6-10) beat 13th ranked Tornadoes (6-10) in Kilsyth 79-68 on Sunday. Lady Cobras dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tornadoes' 26. American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and Nikita Young accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Olivia West (168, college: UC Riverside) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Micah Simpson (175-2002) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Tornadoes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lady Cobras have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Launceston T. and Hobart C. Lady Cobras will meet at home Ballarat Miners (#18) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tornadoes will play against Spectres (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
