There was a surprise result in Mandurah where fifth ranked Magic (11-6) outscored top-ranked Cougars (14-1) 82-50 on Friday. Magic held Cougars to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.8 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was forward Hannah Hank (188, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds. American-American Samoan power forward Sarah Toeaina (185-1996, college: Hawaii) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Jessie Edwards (193-1995, college: Minnesota) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and German forward Patricia Brossmann (183-1997, college: San Diego) added 6 points and 13 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Magic maintains fifth position with 11-6 record. Loser Cougars still keep top place with one game lost. Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cougars will play against Redbacks and hope to secure a win.
