There was no surprise in Adelaide where 10th ranked Lions (1-13) were outplayed by fifth ranked Panthers (8-6) 96-59 on Saturday. Panthers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 32. Panthers forced 24 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 54-25 including a 27-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was center Darcy Rees (193-2000, college: Washington) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Holly Forbes (178-1998, college: UT Martin) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Five Panthers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tiahna Sears (178, college: N.Alabama) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and American center Imani Guy (193, college: Marian, IN) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panthers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and NGC Seahawks. Loser Lions keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Panthers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Adelaide to the arena Rockets.
