Everything went according to plan in Wollongong where sixth ranked Sharks (11-5) outscored 13th ranked Hawks (3-13) 101-58 on Saturday. Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks' 30. Sharks forced 23 Hawks turnovers and outrebounded them 57-30 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hawks' players. The best player for the winners was forward Madeleine Norris (188-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Aliza Fabbro (172-2001) chipped in 30 points. Five Sharks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lauren Gatwood (-1988) who recorded 13 points and point guard Rebecca Abel (168-1999) added 10 points and 6 steals respectively. Hawks' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sharks have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hawks lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Inner WB. Sharks will meet Spireds (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hawks will play against Panthers in Penrith and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
