There was a surprise result in Cotton Tree where fourteenth ranked Sunshine CP (3-12) beat second-best Pirates (11-5) 87-71 on Saturday. Sunshine CP looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Kathleen Macleod (167-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American forward Alex Wittinger (185-1997, college: Illinois) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Sunshine CP's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Jade Kirisome (175, college: SMC) who recorded 16 points and 9 assists and guard Hannah Young (188-1993, college: Virginia Tech) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Sunshine CP and four Pirates players scored in double figures. Sunshine CP moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Pirates dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
