Regular Season Round 19: Eltham W. - Waverley F. 70-89

Everything went according to plan in Eltham where second ranked Falcons (15-3) outleveled 9th ranked Wildcats (10-9) 89-70 on Friday. Falcons dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Wildcats' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Maddi Utti who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) helped adding 22 points. Four Falcons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and center Rebecca Pizzey (190-1999) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Falcons. They maintain second place with 15-3 record having just three points less than leader Wyndham D. Loser Wildcats dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Falcons will meet Rangers (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wildcats will play against Lady Cobras in Kilsyth and hope to secure a win.
